Painting and Decorating: Enhancing The Beauty of Your Home

Standard

So you’ve decided. Your house needs a lick of paint. Now before you choose a colour have a good think about areas in your house that you want to make the most of. Have you got a room that feels just too small even for an office? Is your hallway “tunnel like”? Have you got that one room where there just isn’t enough light?

We all have parts of our homes where we would like to change something but just don’t know how… Read along and you will find out just how to make the most of those parts of your house that you would rather forget they exist.

Create the illusion of more space.

No need for costly extensions and architects. Colour can be used to change the shape of the room. Of course we’re not saying the paint will magically move the walls but it will create the illusion of doing so and that’s all you need.

A darker colour will make the walls appear closer to you and the lighter colours make the walls appear to be further away.

Having said that don’t just go for all white. You can have a bit of fun with colours choosing “off white” colours and still keeping that room light and spacious.

Once you’ve painted it remember that less is more in small spaces, so don’t put too much furniture and your “box bedroom” will change into light and breezy office.

If you struggling with making your hallway less claustrophobic try painting the end wall a darker shade than the side walls – that will give it a look of space.

Make the most of little natural light.

In nearly every home you will find one room that just doesn’t benefit from much natural light, whether it’s a bathroom or an office. Suppress the urge to paint it eye-wateringly white to make it brighter. Instead of creating the hospital look go for warm darker colours or even bold patterned wallpapers. That way you will create more intimate atmosphere. Add a nice warm light and your undesired downstairs bathroom is the talk of the neighbourhood.

Create a flow through your home.

When you’re re-decorating your home you want to keep some sort of the scheme. Of course we are not saying keep all rooms the same colour. No, no, no! You do need some colour in your house so what we are suggesting is to choose colours that all have the same tonal weight. Its good to decorate floor by floor, so i.e. your ground floor hallway will be in Cornforth White and your first floor in Elephants Breath. (Farrow & Ball Paint Colours)

By using darker colours in a hallway you will make your rooms seem brighter.

Lastly if you are not afraid of change try painting walls light colours and woodwork darker. That way you will create light and space in your home, but only if you’re going for neutral scheme.

Quite simply by using darker colours on skirting your walls will appear lighter in contrast.

Finding the right people for the job.

Fancy rolling your sleeves up and painting the entire house yourselves?  Of course that is one way to do it, but if you really want your home to look great it’s best to get the professionals in. We’re not saying you couldn’t do it yourself but lets face it, re-decorating is a rather daunting DIY job. And another thing is that once you get the right painters and decorators in you will see how your home becomes the palace from your dreams. Its easy to simply paint the house, but to get that great finish you need the professional eye and the experience of someone who has been doing it for a while.

To improve you home – tilers and plasterers working together.

Standard

One of our regular customers Sarah called us for a tiling quotation for her bathroom in South London. Sarah wanted to re-tile bathroom walls around the bath and tile the floor of which London Tiling Company have vast experience in. She chose a white porcelain 6”x3” tiles for walls and grey ceramic 13”x13” for her floor.

The works included hacking off the old tiles and making good the walls.

When the old tiles came off we realised that the walls are in quite a bad condition and they need plastering.

That was when we first thought of working closer with London Plastering Company. We have previously met guys from London Plastering and seen their work but it never really occurred to us that joining our teams together could bring big saving to our customers.

Sarah was quite happy for us to recommend our sister company to her as we’ve previously worked on many projects for her and she trusted us, also it meant that she only had to deal with one person as our project manager dealt with both plasterers and tillers.

Another advantage of London Plastering Company working closely with London Tiling Company is that our customers get only the professionals in and all works are guaranteed. Our cooperation means that we work around each other and we have clear understanding of our standards and customers needs.

The difference between a good tiling finish and a great one often lays in wall preparation. Having a good smooth surface to lay tiles on not only means a faster tiling, but also often will improve the quality of the job.

After many successful jobs completed and over a year of working together we decided that our cooperation should remain permanent.

Our customers now benefit from our technicians being able to recommend someone that we are 100% sure of and at a cheaper price than most competitors!

We pride ourselves in having links to the most specialist personnel and that is what guarantees the successful completion of all our works.

The London Plastering Company has a dedicated team of plasterers in London, so if you’re looking for people that take pride in their work you have come to the right place. For more details on plasterers london please visit our website www.londonplasteringcompany.co.uk

London painters and Plumbers joining their work.

Standard

When the London Paint Company first opened for business we planned to be an independent company working on specific projects to deliver best standards possible.

We trained our staff extensively in their fields of work and ensured all our employees deliver excellent customer service.

At first we didn’t intend to work closely with other companies like we do now.

About a year ago on one of our jobs in East London we needed to remove some radiators to paint behind them.

That was when we realised that working closely with our sister company – London Plumbing Company will not only save time but can also save customer money.

London Plumbing Company is a relevantly newly merged company with many experienced plumbers.  Their workmanship is excellent and very tidy and that is why our cooperation works perfectly. The brilliant thing about London Plumbing Company engineers is that they will solve your problem whatever it is – a simple repair or work with you on a state of the art installation or upgrade.

Instead of calling upon new company we can contact London plumbers and get the things moving swiftly without waiting for other firms.

After a few jobs we realised that both companies working together are good match, and that’s when we decided to create London Group. Our aim is to provide efficient, reliable and effective solutions through high standards of customer service.

London Group is simply London Paint Company working in partnership with London Plumbing Company. So when we are painting your house and you need a plumber it’s much simpler to get one company to sort it out.

By no means London Group is a one company that does a bit of everything. We have specialist-trained technicians that are professionals in their field of work. You won’t see our painters plastering your walls or plumbing in your bathroom. Our technicians are fully qualified in what they do and every job is theirs pride and joy.

At London Group we pride ourselves in having links to the most specialist personnel in their fields of work, and that is what guarantees the successful completion of all our work.

In most cases, things on site will change during the build. London Group wants to give you confidence in that process, so that you can concentrate on enjoying the results.

At London Paint Company we have been using Farrow & Ball paint for as long as we can remember. Our painters have extensive knowledge of colours and finishes in many brands of paint including Farrow and Ball and Dulux, however its Farrow and Ball that we use most.

London Paint Company is committed to delivering excellent standards. Using Farrow & Ball paint makes it achievable for us, as it’s such a great brand.

When we are being asked why do we use Farrow and Ball paint the answer is not that simple. There are many reasons why:

Firstly Farrow & Ball paint is 100% English. Since it was established up to this day the paint is produced in Dorset, what makes it close to our hearts as all London Paint Company employees are born and bred Londoners and speak plain English.

Secondly Farrow & Ball paints are eco friendly with low or minimal VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) content and are water based. We love our environment and if using great paint helps us do a bit for Earth then we are all in!

Thirdly most of their paints been tested to meet Toy Safety Standard which means, that you can stop worrying and paint your baby’s room or even their toys in Farrow & Ball paint knowing that it will cause no harm.

Another good reason to use Farrow & Ball paint is the depth of the colour. In their factory in Dorset all paint is being checked for colour density. Special team is dedicated to pick only the colours that meet high requirements of being named by Farrow & Ball.

Lastly all 132 colours of Farrow & Ball paint have funky names! Yes we admit we love them! I mean on the first encounter why would you want your hallway painted in Elephant’s Breath® or your kitchen in Cabbage White®? But once you see the colours and hear all the good stuff about the paints you will be rushing to your local paint shop to get some! And when you do that dont forget to call on London Paint Company to transform your home for you!
